Amarillo Technical Center campus now can take down their signs and hang up the new East Campus signs.

The AC regents approved the change of name on Nov. 26.

"I feel comfortable this is the consensus of the faculty and students," said Dr. Bud Joyner, AC president.

Joyner said it has been under discussion to change the name since legislation transferred deed of ATC over to AC in the last session.

"I think it is great," said David Woodburn, an AC regent. "I hope the first thing we do is put a sign out there that says 'Amarillo College East Campus'."

The regents also approved the purchase of Phase I Digital Equipment for KACV in the amount of $2,262,298.79.

The ATC campus, or East Campus, also had a street repair project approved. Holmes Construction was the lowest bidder in the amount of $22,927.81 for the repair of two streets. The repair is approximately 1,000 linear feet.

Regents approved an East Campus roofing project on the physical plant in the amount of $46,500.

In other business regents approved: renewal license purchase with MS software for $37,978.20, and purchase of Cisco and Cabletron Router Hardware and software for ITS network services for $51,410.
