Yellow-fin Tuna
(Thunnus albacares)

Mackerel, bonito, and tuna compose a famous family of fish.

In the western Atlantic Ocean, this family is found from as far north as New England and as far south as southern Brazil.

Like most of the big tuna, the yellow fin is a high sea, roaming species, never approaching close enough to shore to be encountered by coastal sportsmen. The school follows the seasons, making ocean journeys on a regular basis
