Antler/Horn Identification

Description
Overview:
The student will compare and contrast the structure and function of antlers and horns.  
They will recognize the antlers and horns on different organisms.

Instructional Cycle
1. Ask students what organisms have antlers and which have horns.
2. Ask students what sex are the organisms with these structures.
3. Ask students to write a short paragraph why organisms have these structures.
4. Show the students pictures of antlers and horns.
5. Have them write a description of antlers and horns.
6. Have them work through the web activity description.
7. Discuss the student descriptions. 
8. Work through seek and find.
9. Have students take online antler/horn identification.
