Biotechnology I


BIOL 2471:   4 hours credit (3hrs lecture, 4 hrs laboratory)

Prerequisite:   BIOL 1406 - Biology One

Description:   

The study of current research and laboratory procedures in biotechnology and its uses in agriculture, industry and medicine.  This course will emphasize the basic laboratory skills to include sterile techniques, laboratory mathematics, spectrophotometry, recombinant DNA techniques, electrophoresis, genomic library construction and bioinformatics. (4 sem hrs; 3 lec, 4 lab)
