No E-mail Available

Phone: 806-371-5349

A truly incredible inspiration, Helen Gerald has been teaching Suzuki students since helping Suzanne Grooms establish the program at Amarillo College in 1977. Already a well-established traditional private teacher with over 36 years of experience, she quickly became sold on the Suzuki method after researching its innovative ideas and results.

A leading section violinist in the Amarillo Symphony for over 50 years, Mrs. Gerald served as concertmaster, assistant concertmaster, and violist for the group which has grown from a volunteer organization to a professional orchestra during her tenure. She is an active member of the ASO’s educational outreach activities, including annual String Family presentations and select Music Makes the Difference programs.

Growing up in Topeka, Kansas, Mrs. Gerald began studying violin around the age of seven, received a Music Education degree, spent summers at the Interlochen National Music Camp and taught public school before beginning her orchestral playing career with the Houston Symphony.

Mrs. Gerald is the first violinist for the AC Faculty Trio/Quartet, and performs frequently at area churches and community events.
